Musical Monday

This morning the song that came into my head in the shower was Crazy, by Patsy Cline. A song written by a young Willie Nelson. Enjoy.

Frozen

Sometimes when I'm in the middle of a depressive episode, I feel frozen. Overwhelmed by everything, frozen & unable to accomplish anything.

It's the feeling of being lost in a crowd & lonely even with those you love. Hopefully it will pass by tomorrow.

I've Got Rockin' Friends!!!

Hey guys it's me, Mimi! Back safe & sound from the wilds of North Carolina.

After what my lovely friends did, I'm sure that I wasn't terribly missed, but I'm glad to be back! I hope you found out what great blogs my guest bloggers have & stop in to see them often.

Here's a shot of my fam & me at Whaleback waterfall. I had 3 layers of shirts on, so I look even wider than I actually am, but I think all of my boys men look great.

Photobucket

I can't wait to get caught up on all of my blog reading. I'll post more pics of my trip once I get caught up with life!

An Affair of The Couch

Hello Mimi Fans!

I am thrilled to be guest posting for a blogger that cracks.me.up.

Mimi has been part of SITS for quite sometime, so we have always been friendly.

But, in a moment of decor bliss, we fell in deep bloggy love.

See, I love decor. I love seeing what people do to make their homes and extension of themselves. If you put up a picture of your adorable child, you can bet I'm sneaking a peek in the background.

Apparently, Mimi does too.

A few weeks ago, I posted this picture in regards to Spring:

Mimi left me this comment: "The plants are cute, but I am considering leaving my husband and marrying you for those couches!!!!"

And, with that I knew Mimi was so my people.

So, I thought I'd share a bit more of my Spring decor!

A great way to get ready for Spring is to paint. I decided our master bedroom was in needed of some new bling. I am a HUGE fan of vinyl lettering and designs, as here in SoCal, we can't put anything over our beds that could fall. I saw this chandelier and fell head over heels. The paint color is "contemplation" and it's the perfect shade of blue/grey with a tiny hint of green.

My bedroom is now incredible relaxing and apparently very wrinkled, but whatev.

Now, on to the family room.

Have you seen Wal Mart's new Better Homes & Garden line? I fell in love with these plaid drapes. And, I am a big fan of the letter R- I have picked those up from various places: Home Goods, Anthropology, etc.
The classic iron piece? Hobby Lobby. Sigh. How I miss Hobby Lobby.

And, to really be fabulous this Spring. You must have one of these:

A big thank you to Mimi for having me!

Magic, Thy Name is Capucine

Hi Mimi's peeps! This is Joy from Joy to the Blog.

Vacationing Pam put me in charge of Tuesday's post, can you believe it?! I was beyond flattered.

So what to post on this lovely blog? What would bring a smile? How could I charm and delight Mimi's readers without actually being Mimi?

"Once Upon A Time," by a little French girl named Capucine, is my answer to this question.

Because of Capucine's internet popularity, her amazing mom sells t-shirts of Capucine's artwork where the proceeds go to a charity she set up to help fund school books for African girls. You'll find a link on her Vimeo site when you click the video.

I feel a little Naughty...

Heeheehee...

Shhh, don't tell Mimi, but I found the hide-a-key she stashed in the front planter. It was buried 3 inches deep, but that didn't pose a problem for me!

It's So Not Mom-a-licious here! I'm sneaking over from my place to get a break from all the tantrums and food and toy throwing!

I will say that I am a little disappointed. I was hoping to raid the fridge and the pantry. Make myself something to snack on since I don't often get to eat the food on my own plate! But it looks as though her two growing boys beat me to it!

Oh well, now I know what to look forward to as my son begins to grow...a bigger food bill!

Speaking of my son, I don't know where he's picking up the things he is! The other day, after bath time, I had him on the couch neked and was getting ready to cloth him and what not. He decided to look out the window for a minute. Next thing I know he is saying (and I swear this is what it sounded like) "rick, rick, rick" - only let's do letter substitution and replace the R with a D. What?! I know, right? That word is not used in this house by either me or the hubs.

I thought there was no way that he was really saying that. Until he stopped and looked down at himself. Coincidence or daycare faux-pas? It better be a coincidence!

Oskar, I don't want to play fetch right now.

So then a couple of weeks ago, my son was having this phase where he would go grab my shirts out of the laundry or off the hangers and place them on his head, or around his neck like a scarf. Awww, cute sometimes. Until....

One day he had one over his head and was walking backwards saying "Beep, beep, beep". You know that sound trucks make when backing up, but that most people associate with a wide-load backing up. What?! That better be a coincidence or just his favorite word for that day. Why all of a sudden do I feel...well, like a wide-load?

Then, literally two days later, he picked up another shirt. It was clean and so I didn't feel like washing a shirt I hadn't worn yet. This turned into a huge tantrum. He wanted that shirt! Only he wasn't screaming "shirt", he was screaming "blanket! blanket!" What?! Now my clothes are big enough to be his blankets?!

Talk about getting a complex from a two year old!

Well, I have to let the dog out and I want to enjoy kicking my feet up on the coffee table to watch a little The Price is Right before I head back over to my place and back to reality. Now if I can just figure out this dang remote!

Thanks Mimi for letting my come over to hang out! Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

While Mimi's Away...

I'm one of the lucky
(lonely)
few she's left behind to hold down the fort!

My name is Diane and I blog over at
Good Mourning, Glory!
and
Wouldn't You Like To See Something Strange?

Not to worry though, if you need to speak with Mimi,
I think I've located her whereabouts...

*giggle*

She told me they aren't taking their RV this time,
but instead they are going to rough it!

I hope her hubby can do a better job at
pitching a tent
than these guys!!

Personally, I don't know about roughing it...

That means taking a tinkle outside!

And...

You never know who might be watching!!

Mimi is definitely more of an 'at-one-with-nature'
kinda
gal though, so I'm sure she'll
enjoy herself immensely!

But, I know I'm sure gonna miss her!

(Cuz she's one of my bestest friends ever!)

Thank you to Mimi for inviting me to guest blog for her!

Being Blogged Down

Don't you love it? I'm not bogged down, I'm blogged down with too much to do. So many blogs, so little time.

Hmm, if this isn't funny to anyone else, just ignore it. I'm losing what little is left of my mind!

Saucy & Exhausted!

Well being a SITS featured blogger rocks! Any of you bloggers out there who are part of this fantastic group of ladies are really missing out. You can't imgaine how loved & supported you feel when it'a your day.

Over 400 comments that I'm still trying to respond to. I should finish today!

I have a last minute vacation that I'm trying to get ready for, I started my new accounting class (blech) today & I have a blog internship at the Mom's Resource Network that I'm trying to keep up with. Who thought doing all of these things at once would be a good idea?

To top it all off the vacation is camping in NC. But we're not taking our motorhome, which is already set to go, all of the camping things live in there, but we're taking our tents which means finding all the right things from the motor home, packing them nicely & fitting them into our Taurus, becuase my husband doesn't think the van can make the trip.

Is this post rambling & all over the place? If so it's probably because I'm all over the place!
I'm going to get caught up on my blog reading today, but you probably won't hear much from me until Memorial Day. Miss me while I'm gone, I know I'll miss you!

Welcome Sitsa's!

Welcomt to Screaming Mimi. I'm so excited to have you all here! My poor hubby doesn't get it, he was wondering why I'm so excited about some kind of "sauce & your blog".

The timing is perfect, I just got a whole bloggy facelift. If you like it click over on the So Dazzling Blog Designs in my sidebar & talk to the lovely Ms. Mik. I hope you relax and make yourself at home.

If you like what you see here I also have a devotional blog called Devotional Daze, which is featuring a guest blogger today. Also, I have my miniature schnauzer, Oskar's, blog at The Daily Oskar. If that's still not enought of me, I also write at the Mom's Resource Blog, so stop by & check out some of the other fun.

Thank you all so much for stopping by. It's so exciting to finally have my day in the sun.

This is the song I was singing out loud & car dancing to last week. It's a goofy song & it's great to sing at the top of your lungs!

A Thank You To My Sons

Photobucket
On Mother's Day I always reflect on my sons. Remembering when they were small, and missing those days. Laughing at the memories surrounding their births. Marveling at the young men they have become.

If it wasn't for them I feel like I would be nothing today. While I made them, they made me. No matter how down I am, I can look at them & know that I am a success. I am a great mom, who has raised 2 fantastic boys. No anxiety or bipolar disorder will ever take that away from me.

For all of you hoping to be mothers, I pray that your dreams come true one way or another.

And for John David & Jack Andrew, a million thanks just for being you. I coudn't be prouder or love you more.

Open Letter to Dog Walkers

Photobucket

Dear people who let your dogs crap in the meadow & don't clean it up,

First let me say with the utmost sincerity, you suck. The beautiful open area with trees and grass was not designed to be your dogs litter box. Kids play ball there. People sit & read there. I assure you none of them want to have to maneuver around your dogs droppings just because you are to lazy to pick it up.

Since I sit around my house being crazy all day, do not be surprised if I show up on your doorstep with a bag of your dogs crap. It's always best to return things to their rightful owner.

P.S. - People who let their 3 year olds ride ATV's in the meadow without supervision, you're next!

Trouble Loading?

If you are having trouble with my blog loading or if things look goofy, please let me know so that we can get it fixed ASAP. Thank you.

Look At Me & Musical Monday!

The talented Ms. Mik, from So Dazzling Blogs has completed my makeover. I hope you love it as much as I do!

Ms. Mik has been great to work with & really "got" what I wanted early on, so if you're blog is feelin' a little dreary, check her out.

OK, someone showed me this video recently & I laughed until I peed myself. I wonder where those 80's video directors are now?

Remember I did not pick this because of song quality, but to give everyone a good Monday laugh. Watch it until the end, I dare you to sit through the whole thing, lol. At about the 1:20 point is when I start rolling.

I present Billy Squier, Rock Me Tonight.

For more Musical Monday visit Diane or Jori.

During the month of May if you play along with Musical Monday you have the opportunity to win an Amazon or I-tunes gift card. Play along & let them know that Mimi sent you. Then if you refer people who mention you, you get extra chances to win the loot. Cool huh.

So go on, play. Mimi needs her some new tunes!
