Friday Fragments

Mommy's Idea

I got up early & loved every minute of the royal wedding today.  It was a modern fairy tale that really brightened my day.  I avoided watching all of the hype leading up to the wedding, so that I wouldn't be sick of it and William & Catherine did not dissapoint me!

I broke my ankle on Easter Sunday falling down the stairs at my grandmother's house.  I actually missed the bottom step and came down on my ankle.  When I fell, I hit the wall with my head and a bowl that was hanging there landed square on my head.  I wish I could have seen myself sitting on the ground with a bowl on my head.  Once they knew I was OK, by teen boys got quite a laugh out of the site of me.  I'm in a walking bootie that is much better than a cast

I went and saw my friend and amazing artist, Diane from Good Morning Glory and she gave me some wise advice, tough love & hugs that I really needed today.  I love you!

Proctor & Gamble is flying me to Dayton in a few weeks to attend the Behind The Paw Influencer Summit for Iams & Eukanuba dog food because of my blog Pet Blogs United.  It will be a huge adventure for me to fly by myself and be gone for a couple of days, but I'm really looking forward to it.

Project 365 - Week 17

Project 365 button designed by

Sunday, April 17 - Saturday, April 23
I didn't take too many picture this week, but here's a look at what I did get!  Be warned, it's a little boring this week, lol.

Since the weather forecast called for snow, Chris went out & cut all of our daffodils so they wouldn't die.  Even if spring will never come here in Michigan, the flowers makes it feel more springy!

And this is what we woke up to on Monday.  Enough, I say!

My friend Jeannie who now live in Italy sent me some packaged soups & this authentic Italian minnestrone is fantastic!

Oskar got his first ride in his new car seat.  He was less than thrilled, but it's much safer than riding in someone's lap.  He does have a pitiful face!  It was even more pitiful one he realized he was going to the vet.
Chloe displaying her full figure & laser beam eyes!

 No pic for Friday.

Saturday, Chris spoiled me by making me breakfast.  I'm a lucky girl!

Go visit my friend Sara, to see what everyone else was up to this week!

Chloe has fallen in love with this hospital basin!

Random desk picture.

My parent's dog Buster came to stay for the weekend.  Here is is snuggling up to Chris.

I love to collect & swap postcards.  I swap with Postcrossing & Swap-Bot.  I got 4 postcards from all over the world today.  I love happy mail.

Biggest Loser, Anyone?

No spoilers here, but am I the only one that thinks that Austin & Kaylee would make the cutest couple?

They're on the same team now & I'd love for them end up together, I think they're adorable!

A week through my lens, un-retouched & un-edited

Sunday, April 3 through Saturday, April 9

I love how our gardening boots look lined up together.

Mine & Oskar's Gardening boots
Oskar got some free Pawz boots that have been a big help keeping his paws from getting muddy. He is less than enthused about them, but they save lots of trouble on mud clean-up.  Doesn't he look cute in them?

A good internet friend sent me these on Tuesday since she knew I was struggling.  Aren't they perfect?

Fully cooked shelf stable bacon.  I know it's been around a while, but it still kind of freaks me out!

This week is Oskar-heavy, but I couldn't resist the picture of him after he worked so hard to get all of the couch pillows piled up just right.  He moves them around himself and exhausts himself in the process!

I usually don't paint my nails, but felt a little crazy & went with purple that match my jammies perfectly.

No pic for Saturday.

Review: Coach Wooden, by Pat Williams

“Coach Wooden” by Pat Williams is an engaging look into a man whose life was shaped by 7 principles his father instilled in him. Although John Wooden lived his life around basketball, the book is enjoyable for even a non-sports fan. Many references are made of his coaching time at UCLA and the success with the Bruins but it does not feel like a “sports book”. It’s a book about a man who lived a life that inspired, and still inspires, others.

We learn that Coach was who he was because of his father and the way he was raised. He lived his life by a set of values which he did not waver from up until his dying day. The book is a lesson in how we all are called to make an impact, sometimes with unseen results. His father was not a man looked on by the world as someone with success. He worked hard and raised his family well. It was the seed, as summarized in 7 principles, that allowed his son, John Wooden, to make a huge impact on all he came in contact with.

There have been many books with Coach John Wooden as the central figure but this is the only one I have read. It’s short, with on 170 pages, but will leave a lasting impact on how I will continue on with the way I interact with my fellow man. I feel that I am now better prepared to make my life my masterpiece!

Available February 2011 at your favorite bookseller from Revell, a division of Baker Publishing Group.

*Thanks to my husband Chris for reading and reviewing this book.

Project 365 - Week 14

My life through the lens un-edited & un-retouched.

Sunday, March 27 - Saturday, April 7th

I loved seeing all of my happy spring shoes lined up & ready to go.  Not that spring is ever going to arrive in Michigan!
I loved this shot of the kitten 'tocks while Moe was digging for a ball under her hammock.
With an upset tummy Ramen Noodles were a good choice.
Wednesday & Thursday the bad mania hit.  Here's a shot of just me.
Wednesday & Thursday
Sometimes the simplest things make it OK for a little while.
Oskar got another great new toy to review on Pet Blogs United.

Things are still touch and go around here, but I'm going to call my Dr. tomorrow.  He was out of town last week, so I was dealing with his partner who doesn't know me.  I can't tell you how much your prayers, love & kind words are appreciated.  My fingers are crossed for a great new week for all of us!

Go see my friend Sara to check out the other P365 posts.

Typical Michigan

In the last 20 minutes we have had thunder, rain, snow & sunshine all at once!

Friday, April 1, 2011

I'm here trying to find a balance between mania and depression.

We backed off one of my medicines hoping that will help, but my Dr. is out of town until next week, so I have to white knuckle it until then. I'm just taking it one day at a time.

Thanks for all of your love & prayers.
