Lookey What I Got!!

Photobucket

Since I am struggling to still fit into my "fat" clothes, I decided to order some more Nutrisystem & get myself the Wii Fit. My son Jack has a Wii, so now I'm all set.

I am sure I will be a fraction of myself in no time, lol!

Simon's Cat

If you haven't seen these & you have cats, you really must watch them. He captures so perfectly the attitude and adoribility (is that a word?) of cats. These especially capture our calico cat Chloe.

This is exactly what a morning with Chloe looks like if her food bowl is not full enough for her comfort.

The paw on the face gets me everytime. I can't tell you how many time's I've been woken up that way.

My cats don't go outside, but if they did, this is exactly what Chloe would do. I love the gnome!

I posted the other 2 Simon's Cat video's over at Oskars blog, just click here.

I am Not Bipolar

I suffer from bipolar disorder, but I am not bipolar.

Bipolar is not who I am. I am Pam, a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend.

I don't like it when people say, "Oh, you're bipolar."

When people have illnesses like diabetes or cancer they don't say, "Oh, your diabetes." But somehow with mental illnesses it's o.k. to say "She's schizophrenic." No, she's not, it's just a terrible illness that she or he is dealing with.

Hopping off of my soap box now!

Where I Spend My Days

I thought I'd give everyone a look at where I spend time blogging, going to school & surfing the web.

Photobucket

1. Frankenstein magnet from my friend Diane from Good Mourning, Glory.

2. Cute Overload Calender

3. The beeper for Oskar's collar. We do NOT use it to shock him.

4. Easter bunny duck.

Photobucket

The bigger things on my windowsill, a Willow Tree "Free Spirit" figure that Chris bought to cheer me up one day, Bert the hippo (unfortunately he does't fart liked Abbey's on NCIS), a love note from Chris, Pookey bear from Garfield, and a pic of Chris on Lake Superior when we were dating.

Photobucket

Chococat & a necklace from my friend Jenn at Delightfully Cliche.

Photobucket

These are the little guys that live on the windowsill. A Fisher Price doll head. I like her cause her head's messed up like mine! Also Ted, who was my grandmother's before she died & Iris the timid monster.

There you have it. Why don't you show & tell where you do your blogging from??

Am I The Only One...

Am I the only one who thinks this is terribly selfish?

The world's oldest 'new mother' died at the age of 69. She gave birth to twins when she was 66 after lying to the in vitro clinic about her age. She was a single parent.

So now the twin 2 1/2 year olds are alone. She had planned to find herself a younger man to help raise them, but did not.

This just pisses me off. Giving birth is supposed to be an act of selflessness in my opinion, not selfishness. I know it could happen to any mother, but to give birth at 69, and as a single parent, just seems wrong to me.

The children are too young to really remember their mother when they grow up. I hope they find a wonderful new home.

Three Things You Didn't Know About Me

I was a hard core punk rock chick in the mid 80's with a half shaved head & a safety pin through my eyebrow. There aren't really any pictures of that time that survived, so don't ask ;-)

My high school boyfriend of 2 years dumped me at the beginning of senior year. I didn't attend my prom.

I LOVE camping & roughing it in the woods. I have no problem spending a week in one of our tents with no electricity. I can tell you that bathing in Lake Superior when it's 90 degrees outside is possibly the coldest you'll ever be
!

My Baby Is 14!

My youngest son Jack was born 2 days after my 28th birthday. I was in labor on my birthday, July 9th. I was at the movie theater on my birthday watching Apollo 13 & writing my contractions down in a little notebook. I swear I willed the child to stay in because I wanted him to have his own birthday.

I went into the hospital on 7/10 at about 10 pm & Jack was born 7/11 at 11:30 pm!

These are the first pictures of Jack.

Photobucket

Photobucket

He was in NICU for 3 days, but we were blessed, they were just trying to make sure that he didn't have an infection in his lungs. I will never forget the other families that were there with very sick children, and newborns that had been abandoned & were addicted to drugs.

This is John David waiting to hold his brother in the NICU for the first time. Look at that look on his face.

Photobucket

Look at the size of this kids head! Thank goodness for C-sections. He still has a big head.

Photobucket

Here's the required food on his face picture, although I had already cleaned up his tray.

Photobucket

One of my favorite pics of my boys.

Photobucket

Here's JD & Jack dressed up as Batman & Robin. I made my ex-husband drive about 3 hours to Ohio for that Robin costume. The little girl in the picture is supposed to be a dinosaur.

Photobucket

Here he is with a Mr. Spock haircut my dad (a barber by trade) gave him. My boys had this hair cut until they were about 9 until I made him stop.

Photobucket

Here he is at about 5 with me & my folks & JD. I'm quite plump in this picture & I was wearing an outfit my mom let my boys pick out from Walmart. I was not proud of the outfit. (My mom has lost over 100 pounds since then!)

Photobucket

Here's his 6th grade school picture. Yes people did sometimes think he was a girl, and yes he looks like me.

Photobucket

He was at his dad's house for his birthday, so we gave him his "present" today.

Photobucket

Last year he wanted 100 one dollar bills & he got that. This year he joked that he wanted 100 dollars in two dollar bills.

Photobucket

I got him what he wanted!

His brother got him a lovely card.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Yes there is currently a van seat in front of the boys computer in the living room, in case you were wondering.

Happy birthday to my baby boy. I know he's a young man, but just let me have my denial for another year.

I'm Celebrating Me Today!

I'm 42 years old today, hooray! I just finished eating rice pudding & whipped cream for breakfast. My diet starts tomorrow. (again)

Here's a look at little Pammy & my "sister" Sandy dog. I was an only child so Sandy was my best friend.

Photobucket

When I was small I couldn't say Pammy, it came out Mimi & a nickname was born.

Here's 80's Pam with my friend Kristine who also turns 42 today! I'm wearing the white shirt. Did we use a trowel for that makeup?

Photobucket

Just after I married my best friend.

Photobucket

Here's me & my friend by the Lincoln Memorial a few years ago. A few inches of snow & all of D.C. & Maryland shut down. We had the whole place to ourselves.

Photobucket

Me & my men.

Photobucket

I hope you enjoyed my look down memory lane. Have a great day, friends.

(Tune in tomorrow for a giveaway!)

Disparate & Multifarious

Do you ever have those eyebrows that aren't there one day & then the next morning they are like 4 inches long?

***************************************************

Do you ever look in the mirror & see your mother?

***************************************************

I always want it to be hot when it's cold & cold when it's hot. The weather here has been perfect for me the last couple of days. Around 71 is perfect!

***************************************************

Have all of you heard of Swap_Bot.com? It's great to trade craft items & even just e-mail recipes. I've been doing ATC's & really enjoying making and receiving them.

***************************************************

I'm repeating my freind Jen from Delightfully Cliche, but I miss my shows being new ones instead of re-runs. NCIS & Criminal Mind, I miss you.
