BlogPaws - The Day Before

I flew into the BlogPaws conference on Wednesday, a full day before the conference began so I could do some sightseeing.  To read about my trip into DC click over to Pet Blogs United.

Once in the city I headed to the National Museum of American History.  I only got a few shots, because my camera batteries died before I was even half way through.  Of course I packed more batteries, but of course I left them in my hotel room!

Here's the Washington Monument on one side of me,

And the Capitol Building on the other.

At the museum I had a quick lunch & then headed to see all of the exhibits.  My pictures aren't great, but Julia Childs kitchen was so perfect & organized & detailed exactly the way she left it.  I remember growing up and watching her cook from that kitchen on many of her shows.

Here's a Dumbo Ride from a Disney Theme park.  I can't remember if it was Disney World or Disney Land.

Here's the first Kermit the Frog muppet from the Sam & Friends Show.  We all know it morphed into Sesame Street!  I was 2 in 1969 when it started, so I watched it my whole childhood & loved re-watching with my kids.

These were the latest things they had in in the popular entertainment section, Eddie Van Halen's guitar from the 1984 record, one of Tony Hawk's skateboards & that simple copper color bathing suit that lit Farrah Fawcett on fire.  Extra cool points if your dad or brother had that poster hanging up in your home!

Michael Jackson's glove & Edith & Archie Bunker's chairs are pictures that didn't turn out and by the time I got to my favorite part, the inaguration ballgowns of the first ladies, my camera was totally dead.  Perfect blogger timing.....

The rest of my posts about BlogPaws I'll post on Pet Blog's United or Oskar's Blog, so you can check those periodically if you're interested, but I won't bore the rest of you!

Have a great Labor Day evening!

Project 365 - Week 36

Here's a look at my world straight out of the camera.

Sunday 8/28 - Saturday 9/3

Sunday

My mom's dog Buster with one of her quilts in progress.  Nothing's better than having a mother for a quilter as you will see later in this post.

Monday

A cool grasshopper that Chris caught on our front window.

Tuesday

Keds that my mom gave me.  They were my grandmother's.  I'll never be able to fill her shoes.  Ever.  I'm not putting myself down, just stating one of those facts.  They just don't make 'em like her anymore.

Wednesday

John marked up the Schwan's catalog with stuff he'd like to get.  I wonder if it's worth the money.  I find myself not making too many meals for the family because unlike before gastroparesis when I used to love to cook, now I hate the whole process.  That's guilt inducing.

Thursday

The Sleep Number Bed people sent me a True Silver Blanket to review over on Pet Blogs United.  The pure silver fibers naturally repel bacteria, dust and odors, making it a great blanket to use when pets share your bed with you.

Friday

Oskar trying out the True Silver Blanket!

Saturday

Chris & I finally decided to pull out the yo-yo bed cover my mom made for us years ago.  Each circle was cut & sewn by her.  I'll post more about this in a day or two.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.  To see the other Project 365 players, click over to Sara's blog.

A New Screaming Mimi Venture!

As many of you may know I have a miniature schnauzer name Oskar.  Say hello, Oskar.

Hello
Oskar has his own blog, called TheDaily Oskar.  You know how bloggers are really cool people, generally?  Well I have to tell you that the pet blogging community are every bit as supportive of each other, kind and generous as people bloggers are.  We're a little daft too.

Well Oskar & I have started a new pet blogging site to bring pet bloggers together.  Introducing Pet Blogs United!

 Photobucket
We launched PBU on 9/16 and so far we have 93 followers!

When you're having a bad day, reading someone elses's day through the eyes of their pet can really add a smile to your face, so stop by & say hi sometime!

I have to thank my blog designer for creating Pet Blogs United.  I found the most amazing blog designer, Lauren from Designer Blogs.

Custom Blog Design
As soon as I saw their website I knew that they were the ones to design my latest blogging endeavor.  Seriously, if you need a blog makeover, check out Designer Blogs & tell 'em Pam sent ya.
They just added some really nice free stuff, too.

*I paid full price for my blog layout & am endorsing them purely based totally on my happiness with the process and the finished product.  Designer Blogs is not sponsoring this post in any way.

**Yes, for those of you who don't know, my name is actually Pam, not Mimi.
