It's A Tag Kind Of Day!

My friend Sara from Make Music From Your Heart To The Lord tagged me with a 7 questions meme.  Here are her questions & my answers.

1. What are you fixing for dinner tonight?
I'm warming up a big pot of pulled chicken that my neighbor brought over for me.  I'll throw some Tater Tots in the over & be all set.  How easy for me!

2. What is your favorite dish at Thanksgiving?
My sweet potato crisp.  Sweet potatoes blended with cream cheese, topped with a oats, cranberries & chopped green apples.  It's delicious.

3. What are you most thankful for right at this moment?
The fact that my husband was not injured on Monday when his car was struck from behind.  The car is "borderline" totalled according to the shop, so we're just waiting for the insurance adjuster to make his decision.

4. Do you think 50 is the new 40?
Yeah, I actually do.

5. What age do you dread the most?
The one where I finally grown up.

6. If you could have/do anything for your birthday, what would it be?
Take a camping trip somewhere new with my family

7. What kind of cake do you choose for your birthday?
My moms strawberry cheesecake!

Now I'm supposed to tag 7 different people & come up with 7 new questions.  If you don't want to play along I understand, but I'd love it if you did.

  1. What is your favorite memory from this past year?
  2. What's your favorite foreign food?
  3. What is the best trip you've ever taken?
  4. What's your favorite time of the year?
  5. At what age did you feel like a grown-up?
  6. What is your favorite breakfast?
  7. If you had to keep your toenails painted one color for the rest of your life, what color would your paint them?
Now on to tagging 7 of my friends.

Mimi from Woven By Words
Karen from Karen's Korner
Sue Ann from Sue Ann's Journey

Back To School Tag!

My great bloggy friend Amy from Keeping Up With The Schultz Family, started a new tag game & I wanted to play along!

Amy says, "I thought it would be fun to do a new tag.  I wanted to do a back to school tag.  I know some of us may have children who are attending school.  Or remember our back to school days.  I hope you enjoy this tag and join in.

Answer these 5 questions below.  Then tag 5 blogging friends to play along. Be sure to let everyone know who tagged you."

Here goes!

  1. What was your favorite back to school item to buy? There's no way I could pick just one!  I loved having new notebooks & pens.  I still lurve me some office supplies!
  2. What was your favorite subject in school?  Theater classes, also english.
  3. Did you ride the bus or get a ride from Mom/Carpool?  I walked to elementary school, got bus for Jr. high & the beginning of high school and then drove or rode with friends for the rest of high school.
  4. Do you have a sack lunch or cafeteria food?  In elementary school sometimes I walked home for lunch, sometimes I took my lunch (bologna & ketchup on white bread was a favorite!) & sometimes I bought it.  Jr. high I almost always bought cafeteria food and high school either I bought at school or drove to a fast food place.  I still remember loving pizza burgers & turkey slop from my school cafeterias!
  5. What is your favorite memory from your school days?  All the new friends and people I got to be friends with.
Now I get to tag 5 friends to play along!
  1.  Emily from Marvelous Recipes
  2. Jeanny from Jeannie's Happy World.
  3. Sweet Tea.
  4. SueAnn from SueAnne's Journey.
  5. Carolina from Brinkbeest In English.
Obviously if you want to play along, just go for it!  Have fun & tell us about your school memories.

Post A Picture Of Myself

Here are the rules: Take a picture of yourself right now. No primping or preparing. Just snap a picture & load it onto your blog.

Photobucket

Eek, I look mad, but I'm just trying to think of the right face to make to not look stupid (fail). You can see Mr. Oskar wanting to play ball behind me.

There's also a prom tag, but I never went to a prom *sob* & I can't find any of my rad homecoming pics. You're missing puffy sleeves, drop waist & big hair.

Now I'm going to be lame, but I like everyone to play. If you've got time do one or all of these tags & let me know so I can check out your answers & spurr of the moment pic. Hopefully I can see your prom embarassment, too!

Write Away!

My super cool friend Diane from Good Mourning Glory sent me this fun tag. Diane's one of those cool people that makes me feel cooler by associating with her.

She's also got a great new blog
Wouldn't You Like To See Something Strange. It's full of the creepy and the macabre. The fun kind!

Photobucket

Blech, I hate my writing. I always wanted to have fun, swirly, girl writing.

Here's what all that cryptic writing is about...

1- The name of the person who tagged me

2- My name

3- Right handed or left handed?

4- My favorite letters to write

5- My least favorite letters to write

6- 'The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.'

7 - The three people I want to tag

Kinda fun and different right? :)

Picture Tag!

Lynette over at Lynette's L.A.M. Blog tagged me with the picture game. I had to go to my fourth folder & pick out the fourth picture. No cropping or editing allowed, so here it is.

Photobucket

I think most of you have met Chloe. She's my chubby calico kitty. She's made herself at home on the coat that Jack was supposed to wear this year. My mom goes to all the end of season sales & buys stuff for my boys. She got this coat for Jack a couple of years ago. Last winter is was still too big. This winter, too small!

Hey, it's still hanging new in my closet. Lynette, thanks for tagging me with this, I'm gonna grab it & drop it off at a shelter tomorrow!

Now I'm supposed to tag 4 people.

Lynnette at Diamond in the Rough

Diane at Good Mourning, Glory

Rachael at Scientific Nature of the Whammy

Kat at Kat's Daily Inspiration

My friend Denise at Sunflowers, Chocolate and Little Boys has given me some Bloggy Love. Denise is sad cause her folks had to go back home, so stop by & give her some comment love.

I really like this award because of the way it says that these bloggers are not interested in lots of prizes, awards, etc.

I have been to some blogs, where the only goal seems to be snatching blog awards anywhere they can find them, whether they have been given these awards or not. The blogs I love are ones that I can relate to. The ones that deal with lifes joys, pitfalls & surprises with grace and laughter.
The award states:

"This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award."

I would like to give this award to:

Alicia at Confessions of a Snowflake You have to check out the pics of her adorable son on Christmas morning. She's got some great traditions that I may steal!

Kat at Inspiration CAN be Found Everywhere. She's been a great friend and always makes me laugh.

Lynnette at Diamond in the Rough. Another great friend. She's dealing with one of her sons joining the Army & jumping out of airplanes!

Rachel at Scientific Nature of the Whammy. Lately she's been trying to get her son to sleep through the night. I remember how hard those days were.

Karol at Mrs. Incredible. You have to check out poem her husband wrote her. He's a keeper!

Suzann at Lavender and Roses. She's just one of the many moms who got sick & still had to keep doing all the mom stuff. Why don't we ever get a day off?

Just like Denise, I did not choose 8. Many of the blogs I follow already have this award. To the 6 that I chose, thanks for keeping it honest! Hugs & love to you all!

7 Random Facts

Photobucket

My bloggie friend Janah at So Not Mom-a-licious recently recieved this tag and posted some really courageous things about herself. She left the tag open, so I picked it up & ran with it.

The tag requires that I tell you 7 random facts about myself that you must always remember! I totally agree with Janah that the "always remember" part is a little much, but here goes.

1. My ex-husband, Ass-hat Photobucket, had an affair while we were married. He went on to marry this person & now she helps to raise our sons. Fun!

2. I pretended to like guacamole for months while I was pursuing my now husband. I hate guacamole. Luckily he was flattered by my fib.

3. I have never liked being an only child.

4. I'm having trouble feeling a connection to Christ this Christmas season.

5. I suffer from depression & anxiety that often immobilizes me. Depression is very difficult for people who have no experience with it to understand. Most people think you should just be able to "suck it up" and move forward. I don't hide the fact that I have depression because I truly want people to understand that it is as much of an illness as diabetes or any other you can name. For those who suffer from depression the social stigma is just one more humiliation that we don't need.

6. Sunflowers make me happy.

7. I miss the time I used to spend camping by myself.

I think those should totally be random enough!

Now I'm supposed to tag 7 random people. Since we are having a snow day here in Michigan, I checked around today and found some fellow Michigan bloggers. These are not bloggers that I know, but I like the opportunity to make new bloggy friends with things like this. So I pick:

Jen from Buried With Children. She's got 4 adorable kids including a set of triplets!

BlueViolet from A Nut in a Nutshell. Her picture of her kids when they were little really is just adorable.

Diane from Good Mourning, Glory. She seems like a great mom who does things her own way. I can totally relate to that.

Brenda from In The Treetop. The pics of her cats with Santa hats was all I needed to see to know that she's my kind of gal.

Karen from The Bunny Burrow. I wouldn't trade my 2 boys for anything, but looking at pics of her 3 girls makes me wish for someone I could put in dresses. (My sons frown on that.)

Carol from Charlie and Me! My schnauzer Oskar said I had to include this fellow schnauzer lover on my list.

Tamy from 3 Sides of Crazy. When I read her blogger profile I saw that we have lots of common interests.
