I Love Mail
"Good" mail that is. E-mail too. It makes me happy every time I have something fun in the mail box or in my in-box.
That's why I joined Postcrossing. Postcrossing is a place where you exchange postcards with people all over the world. I've sent cards to just about any country you can imagine & love receiving them. I may never get to travel to China or Denmark, but I love knowing that a little postcard can go there.
Since I'm a nerd I keep all of my postcards in little plastic sleeves in a binder. I am also a member of Swap-Bot & love to swap postcards & Artist Trading Cards (ATCs).
At Swap-Bot you sign up for different kinds of swaps, depending on what you like, and then it matches you with swap partners.
ATC's are baseball card-sized works of art that you trade with other people. I love having cards from all over in my collection.
If you're interested in more "good" mail in your mailbox check out these 2 sites, it's a lot of fun.

Manic
What does it mean to be manic when you have bi-polar?
Manic is not being able to hold still.
Manic is jumping around to try and get the "hyper" out.
Manic is occasionally making loud noises that I try to disguise as singing or humming.
Manic is not being able to sit and focus for more than a few minutes.
Manic is wanting to accomplish everything, but not being able to finish anything.
Manic is having to type things over & over cause you're brain is working too fast for your fingers to keep up.
Manic is frustrating, but a wonderful change from depression.
Manic is a part of me.
My friend the Bi-Polar Diva wrote a great post about living with bi-polar. I'd love for you to read it, so click here to check it out.

Holiday Cards That Scream ME!
I love Shutterfly! I ordered a book that turned out beautifully for my parents Christmas present. I posted about that experience here.
Here's a photo of the book. Aren't those babies adorable!
Here in Mimi-ville we celebrate Christmas & I love picing out the most beautiful card to send to people. I'm thinking about ordering these:
This card even allows another picture on the inside of the card. I'm also considering this one.
Which one do you like better?
Shutterfly also offers stunning cards for Hanukkah or even Thanksgiving.
Shutterfly has high quality products and wonderful prices. They really are nicer than many others I've gotten and right now Shutterfly is offering 20% off of all of their holiday cards.
If you're a blogger than Shutterfly also has an offer for you. If you do a blot post like this one, you can recieve 50 free Shutterfly Holiday Cards.
So to sum it all up, high quality cards at a low price that are totally designed to suit the needs of your family.
*In exchange for this blog post, Shutterfly is offering me 50 free holiday gift cards. What are you waiting for, write a post yourself!

It's A Tag Kind Of Day!
My friend Sara from Make Music From Your Heart To The Lord tagged me with a 7 questions meme. Here are her questions & my answers.
1. What are you fixing for dinner tonight?
I'm warming up a big pot of pulled chicken that my neighbor brought over for me. I'll throw some Tater Tots in the over & be all set. How easy for me!
2. What is your favorite dish at Thanksgiving?
My sweet potato crisp. Sweet potatoes blended with cream cheese, topped with a oats, cranberries & chopped green apples. It's delicious.
3. What are you most thankful for right at this moment?
The fact that my husband was not injured on Monday when his car was struck from behind. The car is "borderline" totalled according to the shop, so we're just waiting for the insurance adjuster to make his decision.
4. Do you think 50 is the new 40?
Yeah, I actually do.
5. What age do you dread the most?
The one where I finally grown up.
6. If you could have/do anything for your birthday, what would it be?
Take a camping trip somewhere new with my family
7. What kind of cake do you choose for your birthday?
My moms strawberry cheesecake!
Now I'm supposed to tag 7 different people & come up with 7 new questions. If you don't want to play along I understand, but I'd love it if you did.

- What is your favorite memory from this past year?
- What's your favorite foreign food?
- What is the best trip you've ever taken?
- What's your favorite time of the year?
- At what age did you feel like a grown-up?
- What is your favorite breakfast?
- If you had to keep your toenails painted one color for the rest of your life, what color would your paint them?

Monday Moanin'
There used to be a Detroit newspaper columnist named Bob Talbert who did a column every Monday called Monday Moanin'. I've decided to copy his idea and put all my Monday crap here on the blog in hopes of ridding myself of it.
I think I'll make this a weekly feature and next Monday I'll put up a linky if you want to play along.
- I drank rum last night & now I feel like crud. Note to self, there is a reason that you're not supposed to drink!
- Our car got toalled last week so now we're down to one vehicle. The insurance processor took Friday off without letting us know so now the power of attorney we could have gotten done over the weekend will have to wait for my husband to do it over his lunch hour one day this week. The insurnace processor says it's not urgent. It's urgent for us! We have 3 drivers and one vehicle. Unless you want to count our 1986 motor home that gets approximately .2 miles per gallon.
- I've got more snot in my system than should be allowed. Please can this cold thing go away. It's only been 3 weeks!
- I feel like crud, see #1 & #3.
What are you moanin' about today?

Kitty Litter Cake
I posted this a couple of years ago, but it is so good & so gross out Halloween fun that I had to repost it again. This kitty litter cake is perfect. It's delicious and kids love it!
Kitty Litter Cake
Ingredients:
1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large packages vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared
1 large package vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Roll candies
1 new kitty litter pan
1 new kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper
Instructions:
Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).
Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.
Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often.
Set aside all but about 1/4 cup.
To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.
When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl.
Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding.
*Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.
Line a new, clean kitty litter box.
Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.
Put 3 unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable.
Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly.
Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture.
Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top.
Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.
Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs.
Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top.
For the coup de gras take one Tootsie Roll and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!
Enjoy if you can!

Glasses USA Coupon Code
I was recently contacted by GlassesUSA.com to promote their campaign to raise money for October, breast cancer awareness month. During October & November GlassesUSA.com will be donating one dollar of every sale to a breast cancer organization. This will be a national organization that is smaller that helps support patients as they go through this horrific disease.
You may know that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer last December and after a mastectomy, she is now a breast cancer survivor. This could not be more important to me, so I'm thrilled to partner with GlassesUSA.com for this cause.
Buying glasses online is easy at GlassesUSA.com and they have hundreds of styles to choose from & offer an 100% satisfaction guarantee.
I loved looking online for glasses and the selection is huge. Look at these!
The cost for prescription glasses at GlassesUSA.com is low enough that you can get a fun pair, a serious pair and even a pair of prescription sunglasses.
To keep up with what's going on at GlassesUSA.com you can check out their Facebook page, or go directly to the site to see all of their lovely eyeglasses for men & women. They even have multi-focal glasses available.
In addition to donating $1 from each sale, they are also offering Screaming Mimi readers a discount of 15% when you use the code CancerAwareness. This offer is good until November 1, 2010.
Click over to GlassesUSA.com and I guarantee you that you will find something that will pique your interest.

My Fall Getaway
Last weekend Chris & I went to Tawas Michigan for a fall colors trip with some friends.
I'd put fall in Michigan right up there against any other fall displays in the world. It's just beautiful.
The view in the morning from our first campground. We were right on Lake Huron.
Our "old faithful" motor home and our spot for the second night.
They had had a Halloween weekend going on with kids dressed up going trick or treating. This was a hayride through the campground.
We felt terrible, since we didn't know in advance that there would be kids trick or treating, we had to hide in the motor home while they went around!
These are most boring pictures of the trip. Wait till you see the next post.

Welcome to Flippin' Monday
I started my day with a phone call from my husband that he had been in a car accident. A young girl rear ended him and sent him slamming into the car in front of him.
Chris is ok, but his back is hurting. He's going to be in pain tomorrow.
It doesn't look too bad in the pics, but it might be totalled. *sigh*
The important thing was that no one is hurt, but it's still not a great start to the week!
I'll post about our awesome weekend camping trip tomorrow.
