Manic

Friend Finding Fridays

What does it mean to be manic when you have bi-polar?

Manic is not being able to hold still.
Manic is jumping around to try and get the "hyper" out.
Manic is occasionally making loud noises that I try to disguise as singing or humming.
Manic is not being able to sit and focus for more than a few minutes.
Manic is wanting to accomplish everything, but not being able to finish anything.
Manic is having to type things over & over cause you're brain is working too fast for your fingers to keep up.

Manic is frustrating, but a wonderful change from depression.
Manic is a part of me.

My friend the Bi-Polar Diva wrote a great post about living with bi-polar.  I'd love for you to read it, so click here to check it out.

Hi Mimi,

Thanks for the visit! I wished they could find better medication for this conditions and might as well throw a cure in there as well. My daughter is a diabetic since she is 17 months old and it causes very erratic behavior. I'm also praying for a cure for diabetes. I saw a documentary on MD conditions the other day and it looks like they have found something that would help tremendously. Its hard to explain but by using CT scans they think that with the help of certain specific computer training exercices they can retrain the brain to use different neural connections thus avoiding the highs and lows of this condition. It was quite amazing to see the before and after CT scans as well as the peacefulness of the patients. This research is being done in San Francisco. I think significant help is just around the corner.

PS: I know BD for awhile now. She is a hoot!

Hi Mimi!

I'm following from Java's blog hop! I think your blog is great! My hubby has BP Type II so a tad different, but I have major anxiety. He takes the Lamictal and I take the Xanax so together, I think we fit in there somewhere! I also have 3 cats, a stomach condition and someone just dedicated John Rich's song to me on her blog, so stop on by and say hello anytime!

Blessings,
Martha at http://a-real-upstate-ny-wife.blogspot.com/

Two of my very favorite loved ones have bipolar disorder -- one is a rapid cycler, the other runs at a constant hypomania. It certainly keeps life from getting boring!!! Thanks so, so much for coming to visit me -- happily returning the follow ... :)

Thanks for stopping by I hope you enjoyed it. My son is also bi-polar, although he was recently diagnosed. He's a mama's boy I must admit, but he also has his own family, and he has given me two beautiful granddaughters. I'm your latest follower. Nice to meet you. I have a meme on Monday's & your welcome to stop by & see how you like it. It's called Monday's Music Moves Me. It's tons of fun. Hope to see you then. Have a Save & Happy Halloween & a great weekend.

Great post. My husband is bi-polar as are 2 of our children and 1 grand daughter. She was diagnosed at the young age of 5 and was very sick for a year. Thank God she is doing well and is not on medication. Hubby and adult kids are on meds. Life here is never ever boring!
I am a new visitor and follower from Over 40. I wish you a peaceful weekend.

Hello fellow bipolar roller-coaster rider!! Glad you find my blog. Hopefully we can share info, support, and fight the stigma together!! ;D So... yeah... I can TOTALLY relate to the manic "spinning wheels" episodes. So, how many tabs/windows do YOU have open on your computer at any given moment?? BAHAHAHA!!! Me? WAY TOO MANY!! Frequently between 7 and 15!! Drives my husband NUTS!! Oh WELL... (((HUGS)))

Hi, Mimi! I was over at the Ungourmet this evening and read your comment. You mentioned your stomach condition and it made me curious so I looked it up on the net. It sounds like something that would be difficult to deal with. I noticed in your profile we both agree we have a perfect Lord. I like meeting another sister/believer. Blessing to you! I said a prayer for you.
