Disparate & Multifarious

Let's do some randomness for this weeks Round Robin.  The Round Robin is hosted by Amy over at Keeping Up With The Schultz Family, so go check it out!

Quizno's has another messed up commercial out. I guess it's getting people talking, but honestly based on the crap commercials their throwing out I won't be eating there any time soon.
This is even worse than the last commercial.

************************************************

I guess I helpfully cut the caption off, but this said, "If Salvador Dali designed Livestock". Yep, my Cuteoverload calender makes me Lol!

Another thing that I don't understand. The site that I found this on called this the Snuggie burqua. I think that name fits. I'm pretty sure I'd rather drool on myself in public, than lay with this over my head.

Finally, I'll leave you with one of my favorite cartoons, Pearls Before Swine.

Disparate & Multifarious

Hello friends, a few random thoughts for today.

Saturday was my husband Chris' birthday. He turned 41. As I will be 43 in a few weeks I can't mock him for his age. I'll have a birthday post coming once I get all of the pictures uploaded.

Also, today is Oskar's 5th birthday.

Chris got a book on Michigan architecture & I think I really dig architecture. I could't design it, because I can't draw and my brain doesn't work that way, but I like looking at it. Random, huh?

*******************************************************
My son Jack went to the orthodontist and got his bands replaced on his braces. He got the rainbow colored bands & they look awesomely cool! I tried to take a picture, but he didn't like how his hair looked in it. *boys*

********************************************************
I placed a ton of short book reviews on my book review site, Mimi's Year In Books. If you're a reader there's some really good choices there. I would LOVE it if you would follow me there too.

********************************************************
I just found out that my Diet Sunkist orange soda has caffeine in it. No wonder I haven't been able to sleep. Since when has Orange pop had caffeine? Is this one of those situations where everyone else knows this but me?

Steve Martin Pictures, Images and Photos

In an article this weekend I saw mention of Steve Martin. You know the guy who revolutionized comedy in the 70's? It said & I quote, "Martin, best known for his role opposite Queen Latifah, in Bringing Down The House..." Yeah, movies like The Jerk, Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Pennies From Heaven, Three Amigos, and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, pale in comparison to a bad collaboration with Queen Latifah. *insert eye roll*
********************************************************

If the rule is 'i' before 'e' except after 'c' then why is caffEIne spelled that way?
********************************************************

One last Jack story. I took a casserole out of the fridge that I made yesterday. Jack asked what was in it. I said chicken & artichoke hearts. Jack said, "I though artichokes were plants!! You mean their not?" Since they have hearts he thought they were some creature. I couldn't make this stuff up.

BTW this casserole is delicious. It's at my friend Emily's site Marvelous Recipes. Here's a link to the Chicken & Artichoke dinner recipe.

Disparate & Multifarious

This came in the mail. Good thing they prepared it especially for us, or, ya know, whoever else happens to be living here. Eye Roll Pictures, Images and Photos

As a big fan of Chick Lit, I've often read about Tim Tam cookies in books that come from Australia or the U.K. Imagine my happy surprise when I found these at my local Kroger.

It even say right on there, "Australia's Favorite Cookie!". They are yummy! I looked online & they make one with a hazelnut filling. I'll be on the lookout for those.

*****************************************
Chris got insurance & tabs for our motor home, so hopefully we'll be able to get out & do some camping this year. I lurrrve being able to get out & relax in the woods. Even Oskar loves camping!

The text for this his book lover's tote says in part "tote shows an open book with pages curled to form a heart. No words, no colors, no bells or whistles".

Am I the only one who sees words all over this dang tote??

Disparate & Multifarious

Since Toyota is having a problem with their gas pedals sticking, should their new slogan really be "Moving Forward"?

*********************************************
Getting ready for colonoscopy tomorrow. I have to take an insane amounts of laxatives. I have warned the kids that no one is allowed to stay in the bathroom for more than 2 minutes since we only have 1! They're boys, they can go outside!

Someone left a comment on my last post saying how nice it was that I'm keeping this blog about my illness. It was a nice comment, but I feel like I should apologize. I don't want my blog to be all about my gastroparesis or my bipolar. Hopefully they'll just be occasional visitors to my blog and not main players!

Don't forget to click the links at the top of the blog to enter my OWOH giveaway and my heart keychain giveaway.

I'm off to check out all of my friends blogs. I've missed you!

Disparate and Multifarious

Hopefully I'll be back to more regular blogging soon. School is almost out. There's a couple of poems that I wrote for my creative writing class & I'm considering posting them here, but it's hard to share stuff like that for me.

Why I'll probably kill myself on the Wii Fit. Chloe is our "full figured" cat, so maybe she hopes she can pick up some exercise via proximity.

Disparate & Multifarious

Do you ever have those eyebrows that aren't there one day & then the next morning they are like 4 inches long?

***************************************************

Do you ever look in the mirror & see your mother?

***************************************************

I always want it to be hot when it's cold & cold when it's hot. The weather here has been perfect for me the last couple of days. Around 71 is perfect!

***************************************************

Have all of you heard of Swap_Bot.com? It's great to trade craft items & even just e-mail recipes. I've been doing ATC's & really enjoying making and receiving them.

***************************************************

I'm repeating my freind Jen from Delightfully Cliche, but I miss my shows being new ones instead of re-runs. NCIS & Criminal Mind, I miss you.

Disparate and Multifarious

I refuse to be politically correct about pigs! Pig farmers are upset about the new virus being called the swine flu. Now we're supposed to call it the H1N1 virus instead of swine flu. Yeah, that'll happen.

Have your eyebrow hairs started to get creepily long? Mine have. If I don't keep them under control, I'll be Andy Rooney's younger sister.

It means my house & yard will smell like lilacs soon! *swoon*

They run the length of my fence line!

Are coconuts a fruit?

I've woken up at 2:40 every day this week except for one. I can't get back to sleep after. When it's 7:45 & you've already been up for 5 hours it makes for a really looooong and goofy day!

Disparate & Multifarious

Disparate: containing or made up of fundamentally different and often incongruous elements.

Multifarious: having or occurring in great variety.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I made my son Spam for breakfast. No I wasn't punishing him, he likes it. I used to eat Spam growing up, so I usually have one piece after I fry it up. Just as I was about to put it in my mouth, I noticed somthing dark stuck to it. It was a little fried spider. Just when you think Spam can't get any grosser!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Do you get those eyebrow hairs that are fine one day & then 4 inches long the next day, or is it just me?
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I posted a couple of days ago about my bipolar type 2. It was a big risk for me, but it felt right. I feel so blessed to have had 2 people contact me privately, sharing their story with me & letting me know that they understand.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I have 2 internet friends who live only 5 miles apart! I met them in totally different ways & love them both to death. I'm gonna try to get them together. They could totally meet up & talk about how cool I am!
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Spam laced with spiders is a good diet method.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Am I the only one who rolled my eyes when I saw Bob Greene, Oprah's diet guru, on TV explaining why we are fat? We eat too much food, much of that is crap food, & we don't move enough! There, I just saved you an hour, now you don't have to watch the show.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Under the "Be Careful What You Wish For" category: Last month I was feeling bad for my son JD because he spent most of his time after school just hanging out here on the couch. He got his license a week ago Friday & I haven't seem him or my van since. Well except for when the van is out of gas, or he gets hungry!

Do Xanax & caffeine cancel each other out? I'll let you know.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

During the day I occasionally catch one of the "Watch Me Pop Out A Baby" stories that are on.

I'm often struck by comments that make me roll my eyes so hard I'm afraid they won't return to normal.

Comments like, "I never imagined that anything could go wrong", (usually uttered by a woman who considers armpit hair freeing & names the child Snow Fawn Xenu). You wanna have a natural experience, great, but given the mechanics of the operation how can you not imaging things going wrong.

"I didn't expect it to hurt so much", crazymammasaywhat? Do these women not know how the baby is supposed to exit?

And the one that makes me laugh out loud, "Now that we're home from the hospital, we can get a good nights sleep", yes, now that there is no one to take your baby to the nursery so you can sleep, all your troubles are solved.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

In the winter I usually don't wear a coat. They make me feel trapped & smothery. I keep a warm coat, hat, mittens, etc. in the mom-van in case of emergencies. I would just prefer to walk from the car to the store and be cold for a minute than wear that coat. For all the people out there,

I realize that I am not wearing a coat! I do not need you to point this out to me!

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I know that working at a fast food restaurant may not be the job that some people want to do, but don't you think that they could at least try to hit the bun with the meat/fish patty? This is especially annoying on the sandwiches with cheese. The cheese cements the patty in place, so that when you try to remedy the situation you just tear up the bun.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

One of the 49 Duggar children got married. Like all else Duggar, it will be a TLC special. In the previews they show Dad Duggar, starting to explain the facts of life to Groom-to-be Duggar. Do we really think that after Mom Duggar has been knocked up this many times, this young man still thinks the stork brings the baby?
