Flashback Friday

I just found this & since I had out some old pic of myself I thought I'd play along.

This was 1972, so I was 5. I love how the mouth of the pumpkin kind of looks like a map of the United States! We've got the always cool avacado green stove topped off by some cool mushroom candles. Man, the 70's was ugly, but I was dang cute!

Just Some Smiles Today

Secondly this kid made me laugh so hard I almost peed my pants. I think the second half is even better than the first. His expressions & his level of earnestness just kill me. If he can't make you smile today... Well if he can't make you smile today let me know & I'll see what else I can come up with!

I'm Back!

I know all of you are sooo thrilled. I have had a crazy busy 2 weeks.

Chris had some time off, so we went to a ski resort here in Michigan. Since I've never skiied we signed me up for a lesson. I was trying really hard, but just not getting it. On my last run down the bunny hill I lost control (well that implies that I once had control, but anyway) I totally crashed into this thing called a magic carpet. It's like an escalator in the snow that takes you up the bunny hill.

The tips of my ski's hit the carpet of doom & I shot over it, landing clean on the other side. I am in the yellow & black coat.



It's actually amazing that I just ended up a little bruised. I was this close to landing on one of my ski poles & impaling myself. This concluded my skiing adventure, but Chris had fun skiing & we had a nice, if too short, get away.

We arrived home, did laundry, I did a weeks worth of school work & then I took off with JD for a mom-son road trip to see a friend of his in NC. (More on that in another post.)

I've missed my bloggy friends & my computer access!

On a Break

I have to take a break for a few days, but I should be back on Wednesday!

Well Butter My Butt, & Call Me A Biscuit

Heavens to Betsy! I took a look at myself while I was getting out of the shower this morning & it was not pretty.

Biscuit dough...my body looks like biscuit dough. White, lumpy & pasty. The shapes not quite defined, kinda blobby. Yikes!

I know we women are supposed to strive towards self love, but honestly when most of us catch a long look at ourselves nekkid it is not a joyous occasion.

Sorry if that mental image ruined your lunch. I think mine will be a Nutrisystem meal & some fruit...

She has been just beside herself waiting for her baby, Aiden to be born. At a routine appt. today she found that Aiden had died in-utero and she had to deliver via c-section.

Recipe for Ugliness:

1 grouchy, mouthy 16 year old

1 over-caffeinated 13 year old

1 mom, with one frayed, frazzled, last nerve

Mix together for about 12 hours.
