I did change churches for that reason. The 'elders and pastor' had decided it was okay for them to judge others and it was making life miserable. The remaining members eventually 'asked' the pastor to move on because of their undue influence.
If you need to make a change then make a change, but don't stop going to church. Remember keep your eyes on the Lord and not on man. Don't be discouraged, this is the kind of thing that bring Satan pleasure.
It must make God sad to see what a mess we make out of what he intended to be "good" about his church. Take a few deep breaths and let a bit of time pass before you make any big decisions. You may decide you want to stay in the church where you are, or you may decide to go somewhere else. Just keep going. Don't let stopping completely even be an option. OK? Hugs!!
I am a sassy, social anxiety riddled, bi-polar, mother of 2 twenty-something sons, 2 schnauzer's with a blog & 2 cats. I also have one amazing husband, and a chronic stomach condition that often makes me look pregnant (gastroparesis). I would like to learn how to live life passionately and with true meaning. Until then, anything goes!

So sad but so true! It happens everywhere.

I'm sorry :(
It seems like no arena can escape politics
Amen sister! Isn't it crazy that the church has more politics than the national government sometimes?!!!?

It's always hard to remember that churches are made up of human beings that are faulty and flawed. ((hugs)) to you, Mimi.
Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog to enter the giveaway.
Sorry for the politics at church, just doesn't Ever make Sense to me.

So few words - but they speak volumes....
I'm sorry my friend! But I completely understand. Hang in there! Hopefully it will get better!
Being a Pastors Kid...I totally know what you are saying. Hang in there...
Sorry to hear this is affecting you. I hate to say it, but this is why we don't get "involved" anymore. It seems safer that way.
Yikes, that sounded cynical.
You'd hope it'd be the one place drama wouldn't happen, but nope.
word.
There you go!!! Right on the nose.
Ugh. :(
